Connecting People and Places
A bike and pedestrian-friendly city stimulates local businesses and promotes a more equitable urban environment. Safe pathways are key to achieving this vision. Delgany Bridge is located in a vibrant section of Denver and its closure has resulted in confusing and hazardous detours.
"It's cool, it's history and it gets you to Ball Arena."

Delgany Bridge links many nearby attractions via the Cherry Creek Trail and the South Platte River Trail. Access ramps to the trail system are located directly adjacent to Delgany Bridge so the ability to cross the bridge is essential for trail users.

Nearby Ball Arena holds up to 20,000 people and hosts over 200 events each year. Prior to closing, Delgany Bridge served the pedestrians attending events at the Arena. When reopened, it will again help disperse this traffic throughout the Lower Downtown and Union Station neighborhoods. With recent approval for rezoning and the planned redevelopment of the Ball Arena neighborhood, improving connectivity and relieving pedestrian congestion along Wewatta Street is critical.
